This special trip gives you the chance to experience the settings of the iconic jukebox musical, with a visit to the Greek islands of Skiathos and Skopelos. These two islands became well known after the worldwide with the hit film Mamma Mia.

Your adventure begins in Athens, for a taste of the capital which includes a traditional welcome dinner and drinks, along with a private half-day sightseeing tour. From Athens your journey takes you north to Volos. make your way north from Athens, you'll reach Volos, from where you'll board a ferry to Skopelos! The chapel of Agios Ioannis, perched on a steep rock and overlooking the island will seem very familiar to fans of the film, as it is the location of Sophie's wedding. Local delicacies await you at the end of every cul-de-sac in Chora and beyond. As for sightseeing, we've got you covered, as a private Mamma Mia themed tour tailored to Mamma Mia fans will take you to settings you've come to know through the film!

Then it's on to Skiathos, the second of the Mamma Mia islands on your trip. The iconic Lalaria beach is a must, but with so many other beaches and panoramic stops to choose from, we will make it easier for our tour guests by offering a Jeep Safari that will take you in all four corners of the island in a single day, making sure you get the full Skiathos experience, while leaving the rest of your time ofnthe island free to explore in whichever way you wish.

Day 1 - Arrival in Athens

On arrival at the Athens airport, there will be a meet and greet service for the group with a private transfer provided to our hotel in the Athens centre.  This evening, meet your group members for a wonderful and traditional welcome drink and dinner at a local taverna, in the shadows of the Acropolis.

 

Day 2 – Athens Half Day Sightseeing Tour

This morning, enjoy a fun sightseeing tour of this extraordinary ancient city, including discovering the treasures of the Athens Metro at the Acropolis and Constitution Square stations. See the unusual changing of the guard performed by the elite Evzone soldiers in front of the Greek Parliament. Continue your tour with a panoramic tour to the Panhellenic Olympic Stadium and the Athens Trilogy monuments. Continue to the colourful Varvaikos produce market. Next, it’s the buzzing and charming Monastiraki Flea Market and the vibrant Plaka neighbourhood. 

Day 3 - Arrival in Skopelos

Time to begin your ABBA-themed adventure! Our private driver will transfer you from Athens to the seaside town of Volos, from where you will board a ferry to the neighbouring island of Skopelos, known as 'Kalokairi' in the film. The setting of many scenes from Mamma Mia, Skopelos - as well as the rest of the islands of the Sporades complex, have a unique blend of Cycladic style architectural beauty with lush, green vegetation. After checking into your lovely hotel, the evening is free at leisure to begin your exploration of Chora, Skopelos’ pretty capital and enjoy the town's nightlife and fabulous gastronomy scene.


Day 4 - Private Mamma Mia Tour

Today, take a tour of the original movie locations and settings around the island that are connected to the stage and film blockbuster musical with a private tour tailored to true fans! Our locations will include Kastani beach, the chapel of Agios Ioannis, where Sophie's wedding took place, and the backdrop of the iconic scene in which Donna (Meryl Streep) serenades Sam (Pierce Brosnan) with "the winner takes it all". Continue the drive around the island for a memorable and scenic day discovering this amazing island gem. Upon return, the remainder of the afternoon and evening is yours to enjoy as you wish.

Day 5 - Explore Skopelos

Enjoy a full day at leisure to continue exploring this beautiful island at your own pace. The beautiful Cape Amarandos with its crystal-clear waters and exquisite sea rocks, as well as Milia Beach, are well worth a visit for their pristine locations and to take a swim, and another one of the famous settings of the Mamma Mia film. 

Day 6 - Arrival in Skiathos

After breakfast and check-out, a private transfer will be provided to the port to embark on the ferry to your next destination, Skiathos, another gorgeous island that also featured very prominently in the Mamma Mia film. Enjoy a leisurely day and evening taking in the serene landscapes of the island’s lush verdant forests and its stunning turquoise waters. Skiathos also enjoys a great nightlife with equally wonderful cuisine.

Day 7 - Private Jeep Safari

One of the best ways to enjoy the natural beauty of Skiathos and get the very most out of the island is on a private jeep safari. Trek on the dirt roads  and circle the entire island visiting important landmarks like the historic Monastery of Evangelistria, virtually untouched beaches such as Koukounaries and Kechria and the iconic medieval fortress of Kastro. The drive back through the Madraki forest is the perfect way to round off this fabulous daytrip.             

Day 8 - Explore Skiathos – (Optional Sailing Trip to Alonnisos) 

A wonderful day at leisure awaits. With more than 60 beaches on the coastline of Skiathos, venturing out beach hopping is easy and fun! Lalaria is by far the most famous beach on the island, with its white sand, unusual rock formations and dazzling crystal-clear waters. (this one is only available by boat). Another great choice is to take a day trip to the nearby island of Alonissos and added yet another member of the Sporades islands to your trip! Alonissos has the most important and largest Bio-Marine Park in all of Europe, highly regarded for the preservation of the Mediterranean Monk Seal, Loggerhead Turtles, various species of dolphins and sea birds.  Additionally, it is also a location well known to divers, of the Peristera shipwreck. An ancient merchant vessel that sank just of the islet of Peristera in the 5th century BC at a depth of 20 meters, and was transporting around 30,000 and 40,000 amphorae carrying wine, amongst many other artifacs, which now rest on the sea bed of the wreck site. In 2020 it opened as the first ever underwater museum.                                                                 

Day 9 - Return to Athens (1 night) 

After breakfast you will be taken to the Skiathos airport on a private transfer for your flight to Athens.  Upon arrival, you will be met and provided with another transfer to the Athens hotel.  Make the most of your last night in Greece reliving great memories of your fabulous Mamma Mia themed trip to Greece on your delicious farewell dinner and a few last drinks before wrapping up.

Day 10 - Departure from Athens

After breakfast, a private transfer will be provided for the group to the Athens International Airport.
